The Frankfort Square Park District (FSPD) is governed by a group of seven commissioners that serve four year terms of office. Commissioners are elected during consolidated elections held on the first Tuesday of April of each odd year.
There is no better way to participate in the operation, administration, and development of your Park District than to serve as a Park Board Member.
Persons interested in serving must reside within the boundaries of the Frankfort Square Park District and be registered voters. Although nominating petitions are available and accepted during election years, from time-to-time, it may become necessary for the Park Board to appoint a new Park Board Member in the event that a duly elected Board Member is unable to complete his/her term of office. For this reason, the FSPD is always accepting letters of interest from residents that may wish to serve on the Park Board. If you feel you would like to be considered, should an opening occur, please forward your letter to “President, Park Board of Commissioners, Frankfort Square Park District – LOI, 7540 W. Braemar Lane, Frankfort, IL, 60423”, or via email at admin@fspd.org, and include the following information:
- Your contact information – address/email/phone
- Reasons you should be considered that may include:
- Length of residency
- Community volunteerism
- FSPD involvement
- Leadership roles
- Skills/experiences that would be relevant to this volunteer position
Letters of interest will be kept on file for one (1) year from time of receipt, and should be renewed annually to ensure consideration.
The Park Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., and members of the public are always encouraged to attend, provide input, and familiarize themselves with the Frankfort Square Park District.
Please contact the Park District office by phone at (815) 469-3524, or by email at info@fspd.org with any questions regarding this or any other Park District matter.
